Containment of refrigeration plants.

Confinement des installations frigorifiques.

Summary

In order to ensure containment of refrigeration plants, it is vital to detect the origins of leaks and the levels involved. The phase described here is aimed at increasing knowledge of the causes of leaks based on diagnoses conducted on industrial refrigeration sites. Industrial measurement procedures, a qualification method for components and connections, and draft standards can thus be proposed. In 2005, the following points were dealt with: measurements of leaks in plants during operation; analysis of fault modes (AMDEC) on sites taking part on a volunteer basis; qualification of components subjected to accelerated ageing; examination of welded fittings (survey involving manufacturers followed by analysis conducted by specialists in the welding field). A test rig was purchased in order to test component containment with CO2 and R134a.
