Summary

THE FILMS WERE FORMED UNDER SIMILAR CONDITIONS AND HAD SIMILAR CRYSTAL LATTICE DEFECTS. THE TRANSVERSE CRITICAL MAGNETIC FIELD FOR THE THINNEST (24 ANGSTROM) LAYERS WAS 20 TIMES GREATER THAN THE ALREADY KNOWN FIELDS. THE MAXIMUM CRITICAL TRANSVERSE MAGNETIC FIELD WAS EXPERIMENTALLY ESTIMATED AT 72,000 OERSTED WHICH IS CLOSE TO THE PARAMAGNETIC LIMIT.
