Author(s) : WANG J. C. Y., MA Y., LIU J.

Summary

IN SEARCHING FOR AUGMENTATION OR IMPROVEMENT OF VAPOR CONDENSATION IT WAS CONSIDERED THAT THE ELLIPTICAL TUBE MIGHT POSSESS SOME ADVANTAGES OVER THE CYLINDRICAL ONE. THUS, THIS PAPER DEALS WITH THE USE OF ELLIPTICAL TUBES FOR CONDENSATION. A THEORETICAL ANALYSIS WAS MADE FOR LAMINAR FILM CONDENSATION OF PURE VAPOR ON A HORIZONTAL ELLIPTICAL TUBE. AN EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION WAS ALSO CARRIED OUT. BOTH THE ANALYTICAL AND TEST RESULTS ARE IN GOOD AGREEMENT.
