Approval of the revision of the F-Gas regulation by the European Parliament

On January 16, 2024, the European Parliament voted on the final version of the revision of the F-Gas regulation.

On Tuesday 16 January, the deputies of the European Parliament approved the agreement concluded with the Council, with a view to revising the text of F-gas, with 457 votes for, 92 votes against and 32 abstentions.

The text plans to eliminate HFCs by 2050 and a reduction in consumption quotas within the European Union between 2024 and 2049.

The European Council will now have to formally approve the texts before their publication in the official journal of the European Union.
