Bacharach, a manufacturer of refrigerant and gas leak detection, has added two new gas options, R514A and R452B, for its infrared refrigerant gas detector product family.

R514A is an HFO, has a low GWP (under 2) and can be used as a replacement for R123 in centrifugal chiller applications. It is a blend of R1336mrr(Z) and trans-1,2-dichloroethene. It is a B1 refrigerant (it is not flammable), but has a high toxicity. B1 refrigerants must be monitored regularly.

R452B is also an HFO that is used as a replacement for R410A in air conditioning applications. It has a GWP of 676 and is a blend of R32 and R1234yf. It is non-toxic but mildly flammable and also has to be monitored regularly.

Bacharach also produces a CO2 leak detection monitor for industrial and retail refrigeration application. It is specified for temperatures as low as -40 °C.
