Potentiel des petits refroidisseurs utilisant un mélange de frigorigènes pour la liquéfaction du gaz naturel : un survol.

Potential of small-mixed refrigerant coolers for natural gas liquefaction: a review.

Résumé

The development of efficient mixed refrigerant cryocoolers has seen a strong development worldwide over more than a decade now. Whereas the process principle has been applied for more than 40 years in large base-load and peak shaving natural gas liquefaction plants, common use of the application on a small scale has yet to come. There are promising application areas for hitherto unutilized gas resources such as: land fill, flare gas, liquefaction of coal mine methane and stranded or capped gas wells. The conversion to liquefied natural gas can help to develop natural gas utilization in remote locations and to develop a market for natural gas fueled vehicles. The contribution presents a review of recent developements in the application of MRC for small natural gas liquefaction plants.
