Development of refrigerating oil for HFC134a rotary compressor.

Summary

The paper reports on the investigation of a new refrigerating oil for R134a rotary compressors. Several oils, whether they are soluble or insoluble in R134a, were investigated with the sealed glass tube test, the wear test and the life test using actual refrigerators. As the result of these investigations, the authors chose a very low viscous alkyl benzene oil. The R134a rotary compressor for household refrigerator with selected oil exhibited more reliability than that of previous R12 rotary compressors.
