Summary

In this paper, a novel silica gel-water adsorption chiller with self-balance device of refrigerant was investigated. The results show that reliability of the chiller can be improved by self-balance of refrigerant. The performance of chiller may be influenced significantly by different heating strategy (such as heating source temperature fluctuation, the scenario of heating power, etc). The cooling capacity and COP (Coefficient of Performance) are 3.6 kW and 0.32, when the hot water inlet temp., cooling water inlet temp., and chilled water outlet temp. are 57 °C, 27 °C and 15 °C, respectively. The cooling capacity and COP are 5.7 kW and 0.41, when the hot water inlet temp., cooling water inlet temp., and chilled water outlet temp. are 80 °C, 29 °C and 15 °C, respectively.
