Modelling of a vapor compression refrigeration cycle with a scroll compressor and its design application.

Summary

A dynamic model for a vapour compression refrigeration cycle consisting of an inverter driven scroll compressor, a cross-fin-tube condenser, a cross-fin-tube evaporator, an electrically driven expansion valve (EEV) and an accumulator, was developed and validated. The developed model was applied to a heat pump in order to study influence of initial openings of EEV on refrigeration cycle characteristics in the start-up mode. The optimum combination of EEV opening and compressor speed gives an ideal refrigerant flow in terms of indoor comfort and system reliability.
