Summary

The 24th IIR Informatory Note "Containment of Refrigerants within Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Heat Pump Systems" provides information on : the impact of leakage, the benefits of containment from environmental and economic views, the places and ways leakage can be reduced, legislation and initiatives developed to aid containment, reference sources providing additional information. Although the main focus is often on the environmental impact of refrigerant leakage, leakage also has a big impact on system reliability, efficiency and the economics of operation.
