Summary

Installation Audit is a process to ensure smooth functioning of a system post commissioning to fulfil the customer need for which the system is set up. The audit ensures that all possible technical and non-technical precautions have been taken during installation. Many companies follow the practice of carrying out an installation audit on regular basis or sample basis after an installation is completed.

Broadly, installation audit is classified into:
A. Pre-commissioning installation audit
B. Post-commissioning installation audit

Different companies follow different processes for pre-commissioning audit. Some companies carry out step-by-step audit, and make the corrections immediately. Some companies carry out audit just before commissioning. Both the processes have their own advantages; however, step-by-step audit is more effective.
