The philosophy of ventilation: past, present and future.

Author(s) : FANGER O.

Summary

Ventilation standards are at present being revised in different parts of the world. Common trends in the revisions are based on the German, British, French, Scandinavian and American standards: the building is acknowledged as a source of pollution in line with people; different levels of indoor air quality are offered to the designer rather than one minimum level, with health being considered in line with comfort; proper gas filtration of outdoor and recirculated air may decrease the required ventilation.
