Liquid-vapour phase change phenomena in porous media. The discrete approach application to capillary evaporators.

Author(s) : PRAT M.

Summary

Conventional approaches in modelling coupled heat and mass transfer with phase change in porous media are based on the continuum approach to porous media. However, many aspects of the problem are still poorly understood. For instance, the quantitative determination of the influence of heat transfer on relative permeabilities is still an open problem. The author has developed theoretical and pore networks studies that have enabled us to improve our understanding of liquid-vapour phase change phenomena in porous media. The network (or discrete) approach is illustrated through two examples.
