Pointing to the future: two-stage CO2 compression.

Summary

The lecture introduced a new two-stage swash plate compressor design with double acting pistons for CO2. Efficiency and capacity improvements were measured to be 15 and 7% higher as compared to the single-stage compressor. It also introduced an all mechanical expansion valve that maintains the optimum high side pressure. Many figures and diagrams are given.
