Summary

In order to use hydrocarbon refrigerants, it is necessary to minimize its amount in refrigeration systems. The characteristics of oil/refrigerant (R290) mixtures were therefore measured for 3 kinds of refrigeration oils. POE and PAG indicated smaller amount of R290 dissolution than mineral oil. Especially, PAG showed almost 50% of solubility compared with mineral oil. It was confirmed that solubility between R290 and refrigeration oil depends on base oil type.
