Effect of refrigeration lubes on the efficiency of refrigeration systems.

[In Japanese. / En japonais.]

Summary

The authors evaluated the performance of refrigeration lubes having different physical properties with the aim at improving the energy efficiency of refrigerating systems. It was conformed that the use of lower viscosity grade lubes is effective to improve the energy efficiency due to the decrease in stirring resistance. In addition, the improvement of lubricity of lube which is attained through the addition of oilness agents reduces the frictional force between roller and vanes, leading to the lower input energy. These results indicate that the improvement of refrigeration lubes may strongly contribute to enhance the energy efficiency in refrigerating systems.
