Static simulation of multistage absorption heat transformer with modular analysis.

Author(s) : TANO H., SAITO K., INOUE N.

Summary

In this paper, the authors conducted static simulation for two types of the absorption heat transformer and compared the characteristics. From the results, it is clarified that both cycles can generate high temperature steam over 155°C from 80°C hot water. The cycle B can keep the inner pressure below atmospheric pressure. It is better to use cycle A normally because cycle A shows higher COP and can generate higher temperature steam compare to the cycle B. The cycle B is not suitable for generating higher temperature steam because of the crystallization problem. However, cycle B has a great potential in the specific situation, for example, when it is needed to use much lower temperature hot water as the heat source or keep inner pressure lower. As the next step, the authors conduct an experiment with a prototype and propose more detailed simulation model, for example, considering the heat transfer coefficient and mass transfer. In addition, unsteady state analysis is carried out. Finally, guideline for the design and control of heat transformer will be cleared.
