Author(s) : BRUNO J. C., CORONAS A.

Summary

Due to its properties, CO2 is recognized as one of the potential refrigerant candidates in compression refrigeration systems to replace more environmentally harmful refrigerants. However, its possible application in absorption refrigeration systems has been only covered partially. The objective of this work is to provide a comprehensive review on the potential use of CO2 in absorption heat pumps. The study covers a comparison between the different types of potential absorbents and finally a preliminary performance assessment using CO2/Methanol as working fluid to evaluate the potential of this type of mixtures.
