COMPUTER SUBROUTINES FOR RAPID EVALUATION OF REFRIGERANT THERMODYNAMIC PROPERTIES.

Author(s) : CLELAND A. C.

Type of article: Article, IJR article

Summary

COMPUTER ROUTINES DEVELOPED BY CHAN AND HASELDEN FOR EVALUATION OF REFRIGERANT THERMODYNAMIC PROPERTIES ARE NOT SUITABLE FOR INCLUSION IN SOME TYPES OF COMPUTER PROGRAMS DUE TO THEIR LARGE COMPUTATION TIME. AN ALTERNATIVE IN THE FORM OF CURVE-FITTED EQUATIONS WITH GREATER COMPUTATION SPEED IS PROPOSED. THE PROPOSED EQUATIONS COVER R12, R22, R114, R502 AND R717, AND A WIDE RANGE OF PRACTICAL CONDITIONS. THE ACCURACY OF THE ESTIMATES SHOULD BE ADEQUATE FOR MANY PRACTICAL SITUATIONS.
