Summary

In order to assess the efficiency of air distribution pipes set into a mechanically, refrigerated semi-trailer ceiling, two experiments were made with the same vehicule loaded with palletized quick frozen products, placed in a tunnel at 30 deg C, equipped with pipes for the first experiment, but not the second. The measuring system is described. The unit's operating regime, air distribution with its short circuits, the changes in the various temperatures recorded, product temperature losses and their final values are analysed for each one of the two experiments and compared. The conclusion showed the usefulness of the air distribution pipes and of devices ensuring a good air movement between the vehicle walls and the load. J.L.
