EU F-gas revision passes environment vote

The proposed F-gas revision agreement has been approved by the European Parliament’s environment committee.

The final agreed text for the F-Gas Regulation review was approved on December 16, 2013 by the Committee of Permanent Representatives (COREPER I).

On  January 30, 2014, this agreement was approved by the European Parliament’s environment committee with a large majority (only one against and three abstentions).

The agreement now goes forward to a full Parliamentary vote in the week of March 10.
It will finally require rubberstamping by the European Council in March or April and will apply from January 1, 2015.
