The European Commission has published statistics on fluorinated gases (HFCs, PFCs and SF6) in the European Union, based on reports submitted by EU companies pursuant to the F-gas Regulation.

HFC-134a production was 21 476 tonnes in 2010 (vs. 31 246 in 2007 and 18 609 in 2009). The percentages of the main intended applications of F-gases placed on the EC market as estimated by companies in the EU in 2010 were the following: refrigeration and air conditioning represented 68% of GWP-weighted tonnage (corresponding to 69.4 tonnes i.e. 160.3 MtCO2 eq.
Other main applications are electrical equipment (15%), foams (5%) and aerosols (5%).
