Résumé

An analytical model of the heat and mass transfer performance of an indirect evaporative cooling system with condensation from primary airflow is developed in this paper. Different forms of heat transfer effectiveness have been defined, which can be used to calculate the outlet temperatures of the two airstreams. The fraction of condensation area to the total heat transfer area F(A) is proposed, which is an important parameter in the energy performance simulation of the installation. A complete set of independent dimensionless parameters that affect the overall performance of the heat exchanger has been developed as well. The influence of these parameters on the effectiveness and F(A) is discussed. Finally, an experimental comparison is presented for validating part of the simulation model.
