Le refroidisseur thermoélectrique et à adsorption : amélioration de la performance en contrôlant l'approvisionnement en énergie du système.

The electro-adsorption chiller: improving performance by controlling system power input.

Auteurs : CHUA H. T., GORDON J. M., NG K. C., et al.

Résumé

A patented miniature electro-adsorption chiller that combines adsorption and thermoelectric cooling devices is presented in the paper. The seemingly low efficiency of each cycle individually is overcome by an amalgamation with the other. The electro-adsorption chiller incorporates solely existing technologies. The governing physical processes are primarily surface rather than bulk effects, or involve electron rather than fluid flow. This insensitivity to scale creates promising applications in cooling personal computers and other microelectronic devices. The authors also find that the efficiency of the chiller improves by 3 to 10% simply by limiting the maximum rate of change of thermoelectric temperature to 1 K/s. This suggests that the chiller performance could be further improved significantly by a more judicious control of the current supply to the chiller.
