Refroidisseurs à tube à pulsation haute fréquence pour les applications des supraconducteurs à température élevée.

High-frequency pulse-tube coolers for HTS applications.

Résumé

The paper reports the state of development of some medium-size high frequency pulse-tube coolers (PTC) for potential applications in mobile communication. One U-shaped PTC cold head was designed for operation with the AIM SL200 linear compressor (nominal input power 100 W) and two U-shaped and one inline cold head for operation with the Leybold Polar SC7 linear compressor (nominal input power: 200 W). Phase shifting is accomplished by use of inertance tubes and a second-inlet flow impedance at the warm end of the pulse tube. Up to now, the smaller U-shaped PTC driven by the AIM compressor at 100 W of electrical input power reached a no-load temperature of 42 K, and a cooling capacity of up to 2.9 W at 80 K has been achieved in double-inlet configuration. The three larger PTCs are driven by the Leybold Polar compressor. The two most recent cold head versions operate effectively without second inlet. For these PTCs, cooling powers at 80 K of up to 7.4 and 8.7 W are achieved in U-shaped and inline configuration, respectively, at 200 W of electrical input power to the compressor.
