Transport d'énergie thermique basé sur une pompe à chaleur à absorption: transformateur de chaleur utilisant une source de chaleur éloignée.

Thermal energy transportation based on an absorption heat pump: heat transformer using a remote heat source.

Résumé

To use waste heat as much as possible, the location mismatch between heat source and heat demand needs to be solved. Conventional district heating systems transfer steam or hot water to the demand side. However, it is difficult to transport such working fluids for long distances due to heat loss or pumping power requirement. The authors propose an application of absorption heat pump mechanism for thermal energy transportation. The proposed system is a heat transformer in principle. The difference compared with the conventional one is that the generator/condenser pair is located on the heat source side while the evaporator/absorber pair is on the heat demand side. The objectives of the paper are to investigate the performance by numerical cycle simulations, and to observe the effect of external parameters such as heat source temperature and ambient temperature on the cycle performance.
