Optimisation de la charge et du COP d'un système réversible eau-eau utilisant le propane comme frigorigène de remplacement du R-470C.

Charge and COP optimization of a reversible water to water unit using propane as alternative refrigerant to R-407C.

Résumé

This paper presents the experimental performance study of a retrofitted water to water heat pump working with propane as a substitute to R-407C. The experimental unit was a reversible water to water heat pump with 14 kW of cooling capacity and 17 kW of heating capacity, using originally R-407C as refrigerant. The main purpose of the experiments has been to evaluate and compare the behaviour of the experimental unit with propane as alternative working fluid, performing an extensive charge study to find the optimal amount of this refrigerant in the system. A performance test of the heat pump using R-407C in different test conditions was carried out first, and then the drop-in experiments using propane was performed and compared in a specific test points for heating and cooling. The performance parameters considered in the comparison are principally cooling and heating capacities and coefficients of performance.
