Résumé

Freeze-drying is an ideal alternative for long-term preservation of platelets in blood banks. In this paper, prehydration time, rehydration temperature and rehydration solution were considered for studying the rehydration of freeze-dried human platelets. Three prehydration times, 0, 1.5 and 3.5 h and two rehydration solutions, platelet-poor plasma and phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) were investigated. It is found that prehydration is beneficial and 1. 5 h prehydration time is better than 3.5 h; platelet-poor plasma is better than PBS. These results will be helpful for further study on freeze-drying of mammalian cells.
