Résumé

This paper is an experimental investigation of the heat load through the doorway of a single-compartment medium-size truck. The doorway may be unprotected or protected by two types of air curtains (ambient single, or double with one being refrigerated). Experiments were carried out in a climatic tunnel with an isothermal container for given indoor and outdoor temperatures, but with accurately measured but non controlled outdoor relative humidity. These experiments show the advantage of the double air curtain system to improve the stability of the temperature of the air during door openings, but with an increased infiltration heat load. The single curtain system is less efficient in terms of temperature stability, but it allows a reduction in the heat load.
