Résumé

Heat pumps (HP) and PV panels are among the best solutions for installations to meet RES and EPBD Directives requirements in buildings. Although they are not usually coupled, some benefits may be obtained from this combination: the efficiency and lifespan of the PV panels may be increased thanks to a cooling system which will simultaneously provide the HP with a source of renewable and free energy which will enhance its COP. A specific system has been designed and installed in a demonstration building (Zero Energy Net building) located in the French Alps. The system is able to heat and cool the building as well as produce DHW, either via the heat pump or directly by solar energy. A dedicated control system has been developed to manage all this. The overall system as well as the building have been modelled using the transient simulation software Pleiades Comfie and simulation results were compared to monitoring measurements. Once validated, the software was used to compare this innovative solution with a standard one and an estimated gain of around 10% on electricity production for all year round operation was achieved. Demonstration on larger buildings is also planned to be carried out.
