Résumé

The regenerator is a key component of the pulse tube cryocooler because the irreversible loss from it accounts for a large part of the overall losses in the system. The improvement of the regenerator performance is thus an important task in order to enhance the cooling efficiency, especially at lower cryogenic temperatures. The paper makes numerical studies on optimizing the working parameters of a single-stage Stirling-type pulse tube cryocooler at 30 K around and introduces a method to design the diameter of sphere matrix. The numerical results indicate that the optimal sphere diameter is near 60 µm. And the optimal working parameters of the regenerator whose length and diameter is 90 mm and 16 mm are 50 Hz, 3 MPa, 2.4 g/s (cold end) and (cold end). The results of Er3Ni and Lead employed at the temperature region from 20 K to 35 K are presented. The optimal type of the multi-layer matrix is 500+Er3Ni and it can reach a no-load temperature of 23.6 K with 176 W of PV work, providing 0.31 W, 1.25 W and 2.23 W of cooling capacities at 25 K, 30 K and 35 K, respectively.
