Résumé

An experimental investigation was conducted to observe the effect of sub-cooling degree on the mass flow rate of R-134a through a diabatic laterally configured straight capillary tube. The variation of mass flow rate of refrigerant through the capillary with the sub-cooling degree is observed to be independent of capillary tube geometry and the inlet pressure. When the diameter of the capillary tube decreased from 1.52 mm to 1.27 mm, the mass flow rate through the capillary tube also decreased by 16 percent. Also The mass flow rate of refrigerant was observed to increase by 12 to 17 percentage in all the tested capillary tubes with an increase of sub-cooling from 6°C to 9°C.
