Brazil’s AC market continues to expand in 2025, with slower but sustained growth
New data from the Brazilian Association of Refrigeration, Air Conditioning, Ventilation and Heating (ABRAVA) show that air-conditioning production in Brazil kept growing in 2025. While growth rates have moderated compared to 2024, both residential and central systems recorded positive trends.
The Brazilian Association of Refrigeration, Air Conditioning, Ventilation and Heating (ABRAVA) just released the March issue of the ABRAVA “Economic Bulletin HVACR Thermometer” [1], documenting market data for 2025.
Production trends: strong volumes for residential systems
The Brazilian air-conditioning market maintained its upward trajectory in 2025, particularly in the residential segment. Production of split air-conditioning units is expected to exceed 6 million units for the year (data for December 2025 were not yet available at the time of the report release), marking an increase of around 8% compared to 2024.
Although this represents a slower pace than the 55% surge recorded between 2023 and 2024, it confirms that demand remains robust. The continued expansion suggests that residential cooling is becoming increasingly widespread, supported by both climatic factors and improving access to equipment.

Central systems also grow, with AHUs leading
A general growth was also observed in larger, central air-conditioning systems. In 2025, the production of these systems increased compared to 2024, indicating sustained demand in commercial and industrial applications.
Among the different technologies, air handling units (AHUs) stood out as the fastest-growing segment (+22.8% compared to the same period the year before). Chiller systems production increased by 18.9%, while split AC central systems production increased by 4.6%. This trend reflects the growing importance of indoor air quality and integrated HVAC systems across sectors.
