Briefs: Largest ever hydrocarbon chiller in the UK

The largest ever hydrocarbon (HC) refrigerant AC application in the UK has been installed at Church House close to the Houses of Parliament in Westminster. It is based on a 600 kW water chiller, part of a range of HC chillers developed by Earthcare Products, a company specializing in natural refrigerants. Earthcare claims that these chillers are the first air-cooled chillers operating on natural HC refrigerants to deliver such large cooling outputs (up to 1030 kW for the largest application) and that the Westminster installation is a significant milestone in the history of the air conditioning industry.
