Data centre near London upgrades with Turbomiser chillers
The site’s power usage ratio has dropped by 24%
Colt’s data centre near London, UK, has been equipped with Turbomiser chillers that deliver 3.3 MW of cooling.
The contract was won by Bristol-based company Cool-therm which produces the highly efficient Turbomisers in cooperation with an Italian company, Geoclima.
The technology is based on oil-less Turbocor compressors that use virtually friction free magnetic bearings and variable speed drive allowing for reduced energy consumption and refrigerant leakage.
The site’s power usage ratio has dropped by 24%, representing a 140 kW saving in electricity at any moment in time.
