Eurofreeze Contest for Young Researchers

The International Workshop Eurofreeze 2005 on Individual Quick Freezing of Foods was held in Sofia (Bulgaria) on January 13-15, 2005. It was organized by the Refrigeration Science and Technology Division of the Technical University of Sofia, with the support of the European Commission. Forty participants from 15 countries, mostly European ones, (plus Israel), attended the workshop and gave 20 presentations on up-to-date achievements and recent advantages in food refrigeration and cold chain logistics. The last day focused on the preparation of an important proposal for an integrated research programme to be submitted to the European Commission. The young researchers' contest is one of the key components of the Eurofreeze initiative. Eligible specialists with original scientific contributions may apply for one of the 10 Eurofreeze awards.
