This strong demand will be driven by growth in a number of the world’s larger developing nations, particularly in Asia, particularly in China (by far the fastest growing market for commercial refrigeration between 2011 and 2012) and India.
The United States is currently the largest market for these products and should account for nearly a quarter of global sales through 2016.
Other strong growing markets include the Asia/Pacific market, which was worth USD 6610 million in 2006, USD 8650 million in 2011 and is forecast to reach USD 11 330 in 2016, representing 5.5% annual growth over the whole 2006-2016 period.
The Central and South-American market, which grew 6.6% annually from USD 750 million in 2006 to USD 1030 million in 2011, is predicted to grow 5.7% annually, reaching USD 1360 million in 2016.
Eastern Europe also shows strong growth: the market, which was worth USD 1600 million in 2011, is forecast to almost double over the 2006-2016 period, from USD 1290 million in 2006 to around USD 2060 million in 2016.
