According to BSRIA, the world chiller market is very likely to experience a slight dip in value in 2012 related to the overall global economic situation.
The overall market value is likely to dip from USD 8.4 billion in 2011 to USB 8.3 billion in 2012. However, the market for the Americas increased, returning to a USD 1.4 billion level, thanks to an increase in demand from South and Central American countries including Brazil, Mexico and the USA.
Total Asia Pacific sales dropped slightly but remain the largest market with USD 3.7 billion.
Most countries experienced an increase over the previous year but a decrease in sales in Japan, China and Vietnam affects the overall figure.
Sales in the Middle East dipped from USD 1.6 billion to USD 1.5 billion. In Europe, the overall market dropped in value from USD 1.71 billion in 2011 to USD 1.68 billion in 2012, with the strongest decreases in Spain and Italy, and the region is also forecast to recover at the slowest rate (3.4%) up to 2015.
Trends in the region show developments towards greater energy efficiency but the price factor exerts a market effect. Both combine to make multiple scroll chillers the winning product in many countries at the expense of screw and turbocor.
