Japanese consumers are opting for energy efficient appliances with lower price tags than in the past.
During the second quarter of 2011, demand for refrigerators rose 9%, then reached over 529 000 units in July (+2.6% compared with July 2010). In terms of value, a 3% decrease was recorded.
Manufacturers are developing new models enabling eco mode control of each compartment.
