IIR Member news: EDF R&D
Following the kind invitation of Ms Bénédicte Ballot-Miguet, Research Engineer, the IIR, represented by F. Billiard, D. Viard and J.L. Dupont, had the pleasure of visiting the Electricité de France's (EDF) R&D Renardières site located near Fontainebleau, France. EDF, an IIR benefactor member, is the French leader in electricity generation and distribution with an installed capacity of almost 122.6 GW. After a mutual presentation of EDF R&D and IIR activities and a fruitful discussion with Pascal Terrien, Head of the Eco-Efficiency and Industrial Processes Department and Magali Saint-Donat, Head of the Industrial Utilities Group, a visit of several EDF Renardières laboratories took place: Climatron, a test platform for characterizing refrigeration equipment performance in air-conditioned enclosures and laboratories on ice slurries and ground-source heat pumps.
