L'ONUDI et l’IIF lancent un appel à partenariat pour élaborer des directives sur les coûts dans le froid commercial. L’objectif est d’améliorer l’efficacité énergétique dans le secteur du froid commercial, dans les Parties visées à l’Article 5 du Protocole de Montréal.

UNIDO and IIR launch a call for partners to develop cost guidelines for improving energy efficiency in retail refrigeration


Kigali Cooling Efficiency Programme


As part of the Kigali Cooling Efficiency Programme funded project, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the International Institute of Refrigeration (IIR) are developing cost guidelines for incremental capital and operating costs in order to improve energy efficiency in retail refrigeration in Article 5 countries of the Montreal Protocol. These cost guidelines will include advice on new refrigeration technologies and other energy optimisation processes to improve energy usage in supermarkets.


UNIDO and the IIR are launching a call to retail companies operating medium-sized supermarkets in Article 5 countries to join and contribute to the project’s research.


Benefits of joining this project include:


  • Being listed as a contributor in the cost guidelines to be published, targeting the Montreal Protocol government counterpart and other business stakeholders;

  • Sharing the results at a globally recognised awareness raising international event such as the Meeting of Parties of the Montreal Protocol;

  • Receiving technical advice on how to improve energy efficiency of the refrigeration system and better understand technological options relevant for developing countries;

  • Increasing visibility and exposure to potential new markets.
