Backed by the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and approved by the Multilateral Fund for the Implementation of the Montreal Protocol, a project to support refrigerant conversion of air-conditioning (AC) equipment from HCFC22 to HFC32 in Thailand has been launched.
Thailand recently announced a policy to complete conversion from R22 to R32 by 2017 while Indonesia has made a similar pledge.
Within this project, twelve Thai air-conditioning manufacturers will receive technical assistance – especially from Daikin, the first company in the world to adopt R32 in ACs.
