Nanotechnology applications: Nano-insulation

It is claimed that a new material using nanotechnology and consisting in a micron-thickness film with tiny cells containing a vacuum could reduce the energy consumption of refrigerating units by as much as 20%. Nanoskin was developed by General Applications, a British Company and could be applied to the inner wall of refrigerators during the manufacturing process to enhance insulation.
