News from IIR members: Communauté Urbaine de Dunkerque
During a meeting at the IIR on May 30, 2011, several persons from Communauté Urbaine de Dunkerque (Dunkerque Urban Community) (a benefactor member of the IIR) presented the launching of an Institute of Low-Temperature Technology (Innocold).
The setting up of a gas terminal project in the port of Dunkirk, France, in the near future enables high refrigeration capacities (100 to 200 MW) to be reached at around -140°C. Innocold brings together Dunkerque Urban Community and several major partners, and positions Dunkirk as an international cluster performing R&D, technology transfer and training in the low-temperature domain.
