Trends: air conditioning: India
The Indian air-conditioning industry shows a healthy growth rate of 25-30% for 2005 according to data collected by the Refrigeration and Air-conditioning Manufacturer's Association (RAMA). Worth approximately EUR 1 billion, excluding the consumer refrigerator segment, the market experienced impressive growth in the commercial AC segment which accounts for around EUR 500 M. Residential air conditioning has grown by around 25% to over EUR 468 M, the remaining balance is accounted for by commercial refrigerator units, including deep freezers, chillers, bottle-coolers, etc.
