Résumé

The paper describes new configurations of thermally actuated pressure wave generator for the pulse tube cooler as the alternative of electric compressor. Two different types of pressure wave generators were studied. In both cases, solid displacers have been used as the resonator. The first one is based on the Stirling cycle. Experimental study of work amplification with dense meshes in the regenerator indicates the possibility of the Stirling type pressure wave generator. The second one is a proposed pressure wave generator, where work is taken out from the work transfer tube side. Self-actuated oscillation of 31.5 Hz has been observed with a compact system size.
