Analyse de la performance thermique d'un caloduc à cuivre-eau à conductivité variable, pour la régulation thermique.

Analysis of thermal performance of water-copper variable conductance heat pipe for thermal control.

Résumé

The thermal performance has been investigated numerically for the variable conductance heat pipe (VCHP) with screen mesh wick for thermal control of system. Numerical evaluation has been based on one-dimensional diffusion model that considers the diffusive expansion of inert gas due to the gradient of gas concentration. Water is used as a working fluid in the copper tube and air as a non-condensable gas. As a result, the thermal performance of VCHP based on diffusion model has been presented for the maximum heat transport capacity of variable conductance-heat pipe by varying the operation temperature. Additionally, it is found for the distribution of concentration of inert gas and temperature variation in the condenser region.
