Résumé

The development of the single screw compressor enables it to successfully compete in the market place in a wide range of refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump application. Most of the earlier researches focused on the improvement of the profiles of the gate rotor due to its short life, however, paid little attention to its processability. In contrast, with more attention to the screw rotor, this paper describes a new design method of profiles enveloped by multi straight lines, including a screw rotor and a gate rotor of a single screw compressor. A certain groove surface of the screw rotor is repeatedly machined by a special purpose lathe with straight-line feeds in different directions and positions, which are properly determined, so that, the length and load of the friction are distributed equivalently to the different regions of both the flank surface of the gate rotor and the groove surface of the screw rotor. Thus, excellent conjugate meshing can be gained during compression. It is predicted that less wear, better sealing, easier machining, lower cost, and consequently better energy-saving, higher volumetric efficiency and longer service life of the gate rotor can be obtained by this type of meshing pair.
