Transfert de chaleur lors de l'ébullition en écoulement et visualisation dans les microcanaux circulaires.

Flow boiling heat transfer and visualization in circular microchannels.

Résumé

Several studies in the literature show superior effectiveness of microchannel heat sinks in comparison to their macro counter parts. Microchannel heat sinks with or without phase change may be very promising option for high heat flux cooling applications. Due to high surface-to-volume ratio, they offer enhanced and effective thermal performance. Compact heat exchanges employing microchannels find many applications such as in automotive industry, heat pumping and air-conditioning technology, aerospace, fuel cells and chemical processing. Despite a high level of research activity, the well agreed models are not available for design purposes. Literature shows that macro scale models when extrapolated for micro scale do not perform satisfactorily. There is, therefore, a need of more research to understand the basic phenomena involved in microchannel two-phase flow. Flow visualization studies during the phase change process can greatly help to understand the key transport mechanisms responsible for deviations from macro scale phenomena.
