Résumé

Absorption chillers have a great potential for sustainable cooling. These devices are using low temperature heat from solar collectors (solar cooling) or can be integrated directly in district heating systems. In this study, plate heat exchangers for the use in falling-film absorption processes are investigated. Plate heat exchangers qualify as a cheap alternative for the nowadays usually applied shell and tube heat exchangers, especially for small scale devices. A crucial part in the setup is the absorber where the use of plate heat exchangers often leads to low wetting factors and thus to low heat and mass transfer properties. Both, the microstructure of the plates, as well as, the optimization of the distribution process are important for the flow structures and the transfer properties. The influence of both processes is investigated experimentally. The obtained data is processed to extract heat and mass transfer coefficients, which are compared.
